Overview

MHT CET 2027 Registration: Maharashtra State CET Cell will release the MHT CET 2027 application form online. The MHT CET registration link will be available at cetcell.mahacet.org and the direct link to apply will be updated here. To apply for the MHT CET exam, students must have passed/appearing for the qualifying examination with 45% marks and have Indian Nationality.

In 2026, the authorities introduced two sessions for the MHT CET exam, offering students two opportunties at the exam. The MHT CET 2027 exam for session 1 will be conducted in December-January (tentatively), so students can expect the registrations to begin in November. How to Apply for MHT CET 2027?

The MHT CET registration process opens only for a limited time. To apply for MHT CET 2027, candidates will have to:

  1. First register at the CET portal
  2. Link DigiLocker having APAAR ID and Aadhaar Card
  3. Log in and fill the MHT CET application form 2027
  4. Select exam centre, CET and pay the application fee

The detailed explanation of the above stages is given below:

Stage 1 - Register at CET Cell Portal

  • Visit the website of MHT CET: cetcell.mahacet.org.
  • Click on link for CET portal for year 2027-28.
  • Click on register link under “New User” section.
  • Enter details asked like your name, email ID, mobile number and date of birth.
  • Create a password.
  • Click on ‘Register’ button. After submitting above details, a verification link is sent to the email IDs of candidates. Candidates have to visit the mailbox and verify the email ID.
  • Next, candidates have to then click on "Proceed to Digilocker" to authenticate themselves with Adhaar and APAAR ID for MHT CET registration process.

Stage 2 - Login and Fill MHT CET Application Form 2027

After verification, candidates can log in to the CET portal using the registered email id and password they had created in the registration process.

Under the MHT CET login, candidates had to complete the MHT CET 2027 application form fill up. Some details in form will be prefilled from data fetched from registration stage.

Candidates have to fill following details in the MHT CET form 2027:

  • Father’s name
  • Mother’s name
  • Gender
  • Religion
  • Region
  • Mother tongue
  • Nationality
  • Annual family income
  • Marital status
  • Address - present and current
  • Domicile
  • Minority details
  • PwD details
  • SSC - class 10 details
  • Class 12 appearing - yes/no and other details

After filling all these details, click the submit button. The candidates will then be navigated to their dashboard. 

Stage 3 - Select Exam Centre, CET and Pay Application Fee

  • On the dashboard, candidates have to select “registration” and a window will open with a list of all the CETs active for 2027.
  • Here, select the MHT CET exam.
  • Now fill the preferred exam city, qualification and category details.
  • Then candidates have to pay the applicable application fee.
  • After the application fee is paid, candidates have to take a printout of the filled and submitted form. Keep this document safe for all future reference.

Note: After completion of the MHT CET registration 2027, an application number will be generated. Also, the CET you have applied for will display “enrolled” in green.

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria

Before filling the MHT CET application form, candidates were advised to check the eligibility criteria as only those who meet the conditions will be offered admission. If any student is found ineligible at the time of admission, their candidature will be cancelled, irrespective of their performance in the exam. The basic MHT CET eligibility criteria is given below:

  • Candidates must be Indian citizen.
  • Must have passed or be appearing in class 12 with Physics and Mathematics along with Biology/Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/IT/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Technical Vocational subject or passed a Diploma in Engineering and Technology.
  • Candidate must have secured at least 45% marks in class 12 (40% for the reserved category).
  • No age limit to apply for MHT CET.

Documents Required for MHT CET Registration 2027

Various documents are needed for MHT CET registrations. Candidates were required to keep these documents and information ready for a smooth application process. Applicants had to enter details as per the following documents only to ensure no discrepancy or mismatch in the MHT CET 2027 registration. The required documents are as follows:

  • Class 10 mark sheet
  • Date of Birth proof
  • Address proof
  • Caste/category certificate (if applicable)

Photo should be between 100 KB to 5 MB in size

Dimensions

2 inch x 2 inch (50 mm x 50 mm) in size and should cover 80% of photo

Remarks
  • Candidates have to upload a coloured photo.
  • Photo should present a full face, front view, eyes open
  • Expression on face should be neutral
  • Background should be plain light colored, or white
  • No shadows on face or on background.
  • Please upload high-resolution and clear pictures only
  • Glare on eyeglasses should be avoided with a slight upward or downward tilt of head
  • No tinted or dark glasses.

Important Instructions for MHT CET Registration

Check important instructions for MHT CET registrations below:

  • The candidate should fill the form only from the official website mahacet.org.
  • Registration has to be done by entering personal details, a valid email address, and a phone number.
  • After the application procedure is complete, the Maharashtra State CET Cell will provide the option for corrections in filled application form. Candidates must log in with their Application Number and password to their account to edit the application form that has already been submitted.
  • The application fee can be paid only online. Application fee once paid shall not be refunded.
  • Candidates should avoid filling MHT CET application form through mobile.
  • Ensure that you do not leave any field vacant that is marked mandatory in MH CET 2027 application form
  • An incomplete MHT CET 2027 registration form will not be accepted
  • Before finally submitting the registration forms, cross-check all the filled-in information thoroughly
  • Submission of the application form will be completed only after MHT CET 2027 application fee is paid successfully.
  • Take a printout of the filled application form and keep it safe until the completion of the counselling and the admission process.
  • You must select four preferred cities. Once allotted, they cannot be changed.
  • Do not use a mobile phone to fill the form; use a laptop or desktop to avoid formatting and upload errors.
  • Clearly specify if you are appearing for PCM (Engineering), PCB (Pharmacy), or both. Scores for Physics and Chemistry cannot be interchanged between groups.

Mistakes to Avoid While Filling MHT CET Application Form 2027

  • Do not choose MHT CET test cities that are far from your hometown or at a place where you cannot make arrangements to stay easily.
  • Ensure you pay the application fee for MHT CET 2027 successfully. If the fee is not paid successfully, the application will be rejected. 
  • Enter your email ID and phone number correctly as all the information/communication related to the exam will be sent on the same.

MHT CET Application Form Correction 2027

The Maharashtra CET Cell allows students to edit the application form in case of any errors. For this, the authorities announce the correction period. Students have to log in to the candidate portal using their registered email ID and password to make the changes. Candidates are allowed to add a second attempt, add another subject group and edit other details in the application form. Apart from this, students can edit the following fields:

1. Candidate Name
2. Date of Birth
3. Photograph
4. Signature
5. Gender

Q:   What is the difficulty level of MHT CET?
A: 

As per the MHT CET exam information brochure, the difficulty level of MHT CET exam is similar to JEE Mains. Candidates are thus advised to prepare by keeping in mind that the questions in MHT CET will be of the same difficulty level as JEE Main. However, the syllabus of MHT CET is very less in comparison to JEE Main. 

Q:   What is 50:50 weightage criteria in MHT CET for BTech admission?
A: 

Higher and Technical Education department in the year 2023 announced that 50:50 weightage will be given to CET score and Class 12th marks for admission to undergraduate professional courses in Maharashtra state from the academic session 2023-24. As per this criteria, marks of class 12 and MHT CET will be considered for preparing the merit list in 50:50 ratio. Only those candidates who will have their names in the merit list will be considered for admisison.

Q:   When will MHT CET 2026 application form release?
A: 

The MHT CET 2026 application form was released on January 10. Candidates have to keep the Aadhaar card and APAAR ID ready for registration.

Q:   Can I fill MHT CET application form using my mobile?

It is not advised to fill MHT CET application form 2026 using mobiles. If candidates do not have a laptop/computer, they can visit the computer centres in market for filling the MHT CET 2026 application form. As filling the application form involves uploading scanned images of photo, signature and other required documents, it could be difficult to resize and upload these documents if filling the form through mobile.

Q:   I have filled some wrong information in my MHT CET application form. Will my form be rejected?
A: 

In case candidate has filled any wrong information in their application form, they can make the corrections during application correction period. Candidates who need to make corrections in the form will have to login at the official website mahacet.org  using their application number and date of birth. After login, candidates will see the filled application form and option to make corrections. Candidates can make the corrections and submit the form.

Q:   What is the official website to apply for MHT CET 2026?

Official website for applying to MHT CET 2026 is cetcell.mahacet.org. Interested candidates can apply for MHT CET 2026 exam have to fill the application form only from the official website. The application form will be released tentatively in December last week, 2025.

Q:   I am an NRI/OCI/PIO/dependent of person working in gulf country. Can I apply for MHT CET exam?
A: 

Candidates who are NRI/OCI/PIO or children of persons working in gulf countries can apply for BTech admission in Maharashtra. However, they do not need to appear in MHT CET exam. All such candidates need to fill the application form and appear directly for the counselling. Seats are reserved in every institute for OCI/PIO/NRI/Gulf Workers candidates. The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of class 12/equivalent examinations.
