UGC NET Apply Online 2026- June Application Form Link, Fee & Last Date

It is to be noted that while submitting out the UGC NET application form for the June session, candidates required to enter their preferences for the desired subject. Filling out the UGC NET application is divided into five stages: registration form, application form, image & signature upload, application fee, and confirmation page. The candidates have to fill out the complete application to get the hall ticket for the exam. Candidates can check below the method to apply online.

Fill Registration Form

Once all details are filled in, candidates can click on the Submit button. After that, candidates need to review the information given on the page and click on the Final Submit button to proceed further with the application process. Once all details are submitted, an application number will be generated on the screen. Candidates need to note the system-generated application number for future reference.

Next, candidates need to click on the Complete Application Form button and start filling in the remaining details in the online application form. Details to be filled in application form include.

After all the details are filled in, candidates need to click on the Submit button and review the details entered in the form. Thereafter, candidates need to click on the Final Submit button. 

Upload Images and Signature

Next, candidates need to upload their scanned images and signatures as per the details provided in the table below. The scanned images and signature should be in JPEG format.

Submit Fee

Candidates can pay the application fee through the SBI/HDFC/Syndicate/ICICI/Paytm payment gateway (debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI).

On successful payment of the application fee, a confirmation page will be generated. Candidates need to take at least four printouts of the confirmation page and keep them for future reference. Thereafter, the application process will be complete.

Document Required 

To avoid any inconvenience at the time of registrations, candidates are advised to keep the following documents/information ready beforehand.

• Board/University certificate
• Ration card/Passport number/Aadhaar card number/Voter ID card number/other Government ID
• Qualifying degree certificate
• Category certificate (if applicable)
• Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate (if applicable)
• A person with Disability (PwD) certificate (if applicable)
• Scanned images of photo and signature in JPG format (file size of photo: 10 kb to 200 kb, the file size of signature: 10 kb to 50 kb)
• A valid email ID and mobile number
• Permanent and correspondence address with pin code
• Four exam cities in order of preference
• Code of NET subject for which the candidate plans to take the exam (available in information brochure)
• Code of post-graduation course (available in information brochure)

The aspirants can check the challenges that are being faced by the candidates:

• OTP problem: After filling out the personal details candidates are not getting the OTP and automated registration number. 
• Automatic Change in the Application Form After Submission: The particulars filled in by the candidates are automatically changed after the submission of the application form. 
• Uploading Photograph & Signature: The aspirants are facing problems while uploading their photographs and signatures after multiple attempts. 
• Multiple Payments: The candidates are facing while making payments for the NTA NET application.

Solution for UGC NET Application Form Challenges

The candidates can check the solutions for the challenges that are being faced by the candidates during submitting the registration form.

The aspirants who are facing the problem in getting the OTP can do the following things:

• Check Internet Speed: As more than 8 lakhs (approx) are trying to fill out the online form at once, the candidates are facing a server crash. The candidates are advised to use fast internet or wait for a few days to submit the online form.
• Change in Application Particulars: The candidates are advised to check the application form thoroughly before submitting the application form. If the candidates have submitted the application form then they have to wait for the application correction window to make corrections in the application form. 
• Photograph & Signature: The candidates are advised to check the dimensions and the size of the Photograph and Signature before uploading it as the platform accepts the photograph and signature in a given range of sizes and formats. If the size and format are correct then the candidates are advised to wait for some time as it will be a server error due to the slow speed of the Internet or a server crash due to high traffic.
• Multiple Payment: The candidates are advised to make multiple payments for the application form. Once the payment is done, keep the payment receipt by your bank and wait for 72 hours. If the payment status is not successful within the time limit, then mail the problem to the UGC NET help desk explaining the problem in brief, and attach the payment receipt by your bank in the mail. 

The NTA conducts UGC NET exam to determine the candidates eligibility for Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian Universities and colleges. It is important for a candidate to meet it in order to apply for the exam. The age eligibility for JRF and Assistant Professor has been given below for the candidates: 

UGC NET Educational Eligibility 

The UGC has updated the guidelines to fill out the application form for the exam. Check the latest guidelines to appear in the exam below:

• From the NTA UGC NET exam, candidates who have a four-year bachelor's degree course (in any stream) can appear for the exam
• The candidates who have completed their Master's degree can appear for the exam

Age Limit for JRF

The applicants who are less than or equal to 30 years can apply for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). The candidates who fall under the category of SC/ST/OBC get relaxation according to UGC norms.

Age Limit for Assistant Professor 

There is no upper age limit to apply for the Assistant Professor exam. The candidates who have completed their post-graduation or appearing in their final year can apply for the assistant professor. 

UGC NET Age Relaxation Criteria

The age relaxation for UGC NET/JRF exam has been given below for the candidates. The relaxation is given to the candidates according to the  UGC norms fixed by the Indian government:

• The candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Female/PwD/Third Gender will get age relaxation upto 5 years 
• The research scholars will get age relaxation of upto five years depending on the time span spent on research 
• The LLM candidates will get up to 3 years of age relaxation 
• Candidates who are from the armed forces will get upto 5 years of age relaxation depending on the time period of service in the defence forces 

The NTA offers a one-time facility to candidates for correction of the UGC NET application form. The correction link will be active on the official portal at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Methods to avail of the UGC NET registration form correction facility as mentioned below:

• Visit at ugcnet.nta.nic.in
• Login using the application number and password
• Click on the link/button available for the application form correction
• Read the instructions and click on the ‘I Agree' checkbox
• Click on the Proceed for Application button
• Make the necessary changes in the application form
• Click on the Submit button
• Review the corrections made and click on the checkboxes given at the bottom of the page
• Pay the additional fee, if any.
• Click on the Final Submit button
• Take a printout of the revised Confirmation Page

UGC NET Application Form Particulars in which Corrections can be Made

UGC NET application form particulars in which candidates can make corrections if required include:

• Personal details
• Choice of exam centre

Candidates can make corrections in any of the particulars of the online application form, excluding the following fields:

The NTA UGC NET exam comprises two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The Paper 1 is common for all candidates while Paper 2 will be conducted for 85 subjects. The candidates willing to appear for the June exam must go through the important points before filling out the UGC NET form 2026:

• Candidates can submit the application form in online mode on the official website of the exam only. UGC NET applications submitted in any other mode will not be accepted
• Candidates can submit only one application form
• Candidates must enter their email ID and mobile number in the application form correctly as all the important communication regarding the exam will be done by NTA through email or SMS
• All four steps of the application process (registration, application form filling, uploading of photo and signature, and application fee payment) can be done together or at separate times 
• Candidates do not need to upload any document other than a scanned photo and signature in the application form
• In case, the confirmation page is not generated after the payment of the application fee, this means that the transaction has been canceled. In such cases, the amount will be refunded to the candidate’s account. However, the candidate has to make another transaction of fee payment
• Candidates must retain the printed copies of the confirmation page for future reference
• Since the entire application process is online, candidates do not need to send any document through post/fax/by hand/email to NTA
