
NDA Result 2026: The Union Public Service Commission releases the result for the NDA exam 2026 on the official portal at upsc.gov.in. The result will consists of the roll numbers of the qualified candidates. Candidates need to search their roll numbers to check their result in the PDF. The UPSC will conduct the NDA 1 exam on April 12, 2026. It is expected that the NDA 1 result 2026 will be announced in the last week of April. The authority also issue the result name-wise at upsc.gov.in.
The qualified candidates will be called for the SSB as per the academy and force opted by the candidates. The successful candidates of the written exam are required to register themselves online on the Indian Army website within two weeks to generate the SSB call up letter. Stages of NDA Result
NDA result is declared in two stages. First, the result for the written exam is declared, which is followed by the declaration of the final result. The stages of NDA result are explained below:

NDA Tie Breaking Policy
When two or more candidates secure equal aggregate marks in NDA exam, the ties are resolved as per age. This means candidates older in age are given preference.

How to Calculate NDA Scores?
The scores of NDA are calculated as per the marking scheme. For right answer, 2.5 marks are given in Maths. Candidates get four marks for correct anwers in GAT. Total marks allotted to the written exam are 900. The section-wise negative marks for NDA are given below.

NDA Cut off 2026
The NDA 1 exam will be conducted on April 12, 2026. The Commission will release the NDA 2026 cutoff in October 2026. The Commission releases the category-wise and force-wise cutoff on its official website- upsc.gov.in. The candidates will be required to breach their category-cutoff to get selected in the NDA result.
NDA cut off is released after the recruitment process. The commission releases both the cutoffs for written exam and final selection. The written exam NDA cut off is calculated out of 900 marks. The cut off for final selection is calculated out of 1800 marks. There are also sectional cut off marks of 25 per cent in the exam. What after the declaration of NDA Result?
Based on the marks secured in the written exam and SSB Interview, candidates are placed in a single combined list. The final allocation/selection for admission to the Army, Navy, Air Force of the National Defence Academy and 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme of Indian Naval Academy is done as per the vacancies. Candidates are required to fulfill the eligibility, medical[ fitness and merit-cum-preference. Those who have opted for multiple branches, allocation will be done in the order of preference. The eligible candidate will be issued a joining letter specifying the reporting date. After this, candidates need to download the joining instructions. Those failing to do this within seven days are rejected.

Candidates are judged based on their Psychological Aptitude and Intelligence in the SSB Interview of NDA exam. The Ministry of Defence establishes NDA SSB (Service Selection Board). NDA SSB is the body that schedule, organise and conduct SSB interview for the aspirants applying for Indian Military Forces. SSB Interview is conducted at the NDA SSB Centres. The NDA SSB interview is conducted for Intelligence and Personality Test. Aspirants applying for the Air Force have to separately qualify for the CPSS (Computerized Pilot Selection System) & PABT (Pilot Aptitude Battery Test).
NDA result name-wise comprises the names of the candidates in result PDF. NDA result is announced online on the official website. The total marks allotted to the written exam of NDA are 900. Based on NDA result for written exam, candidates are called for SSB Interview. The final result is based on the performance in the written exam and SSB Interview.
In case the aggregate final marks are equal then securing more marks in the written exam are placed in higher rank. Candidates securing more marks in Paper 2 (GAT) are placed in higher rank. Age is also given preference while resolving the ties.
NDA question paper is framed in both English and Hindi. The written exam is conducted for 900 marks. The test carries two papers-Maths and GAT. Candidates qualifying the written exam are called for SSB interview.
UPSC prescribes qualifying marks for each subject of NDA exam. Besides, the examination authority also releases the cut off marks for written exam and final selection. The section-wise qualifying marks are 25 per cent.
NDA salary per month is INR 56,100 during the training period. After joining NDA, candidates get the starting salary. Over the time, the NDA salary increases based on the experience and performance. NDA salary per month for Lieutenant is between INR 56,100-1,77,500. The highest NDA salary for Officer is INR 2,50,000 per month for the Chief of Army Staff. The month-wise NDA salary is given below:
- Captain: INR 61,300-1,93,900
- Major: INR 6,94,00-2,07,200
- Lieutenant Colonel: INR 1,21,200-2,12,400
NDA salary during the entire duration of training is INR 56,100. Candidates starting salary during the training period and in the initial phase of their job. Over time, the post and salary of NDA officers keep increasing based on their performance and experience. The NDA salary per month for the Lieutenant post ranges from INR 56,100 to 1,77,500, while the highest salary for NDA Officer is INR 2,50,000 per month for the Chief of Army Staff.
To be acceptable, candidates for the Army/Navy/Naval Academy and Air Force are required to secure qualifying marks separately in written exam and SSB. Candidates for the Air Force, and all the SSB qualified candidates as per their willingness, eligibility and preference for flying branch of Air Force, should separately qualify the CPSS.
The Lady/Gentlemen Cadets during pre commission trg when in receipt of stipend are insured for INR One Cr as applicable to officers of the regular Army. Monthly AGIF subscription will be deducted directly by PCDA (O), Pune. For those who are invalidated out by Invalidated Medical Board (IMB) on account of disability and not entitled to any pension will be provided INR 25 Lacs for 100 percent disability. This will be proportionately reduced to INR 5 Lacs for 20 percent disability. However, for less than 20 percent disability, an ex-gratia grant of INR 50,000 only will be paid. Disability due to alcoholism, drug addiction
and due to the diseases of pre-enrolment origin will not qualify for disability benefit and ExGratia Grant. In addition, Lady/Gentleman Cadets withdrawn on disciplinary grounds, expelled as an undesirable or leaving the Academy voluntarily will not be eligible for disability benefits and Ex-Gratia.
