The prelims exam of IBPS Clerk is conducted for all the registered candidates. IBPS Clerk prelims exam is divided into three sections-Reasoning, Quant and English. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The duration of the test is 60 minutes. The Mains exam of IBPS Clerk comprises four sections General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the test are 200.

IBPS Clerk admit card 2024 for prelims exam was released on August 13, 2024. The prelims admit card was released for all registered candidates. The admit card can be downloaded online only by logging with registration number or roll number and date of birth or password. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent to candidates by post. IBPS Clerk admit card is an important document without which candidates are not allowed to appear for the exam. Candidates need to carry one photo-identity proof along with the admit card.

A:

The public sector banks in India offer lucrative salaries to Clerical cadre posts along with various perks, incentives and benefits. Therefore, the in-hand salary of an IBPS Clerk may range between INR 28,000 to 30,000 per month. The following allowances are offered to IBPS Clerk: Dearness Allowance: This component is 4 per cent of the Basic Pay. DA depends on the CPI and is revised after every three months. House Rent Allowance: The HRA is dependent on the location of the posting. It is 8.5 per cent of the Basic Pay for Metro Cities, 7.5 per cent of the Basic Pay for cities having a population of more than 5 Lacs, and 6.5 per cent of the Basic Pay for other cities. Travel Allowance: The official tours and travels will be reimbursed by the bank. Medical Allowance: For IBPS Clerks, the amount is fixed at INR 2000. Medical allowance is provided once in a year. Special Allowance: For IBPS Clerk this amount is fixed at INR 4118.

In 2022-23, a total of 6.95Lacscandidates had registered for the exam. Out of which, 4.91Lacscandidates had appeared for the exam. Q:   Can IBPS Clerk become PO?

A:

IBPS Clerk cannot be internally recruited as a Probationary Officer since POs are directly recruited. However, clerks can shift to the officer cadre as TOs (Trainee Officers) or JMGS-1 (Junior Management Grade Officer Scale -1). Candidates are directly recruited as Clerks and Officers, after their respective exams and interviews.

IBPS Clerk 2024 Educational Qualification

The educational qualification prescribed for the exam is graduation in any discipline. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation are not eligible to apply for the exam.

Candidates must have an operating and working knowledge of the computer. This means they should have a certificate/diploma/degree in computer operations/language/studied computer/information technology in high school. 

Candidates must have proficiency in the official language of the state/UT for which they will apply. Candidates should know how to read/write and speak the official language of the state/UT.
