The Staff Selection Commission closed the SSC CGL application process 2026 on June 25. The fee payment last date was June 26. The SSC CGL application correction dates were July 1 to 3, 2026. Staff Selection Commission conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam nationwide every year to recruit candidates for the posts Group B (Gazetted & Non-Gazetted) and Group C. The Commission follows the mandate of the Ministry of Personnel to conduct the exam and recruit candidates for the Central Government Ministries and offices across the nation.

The Commission mentioned the principle for the resolution of Tie cases among the candidates in the official notification. The Commission reiterates it in the final result pdf. In the event of tie scores of candidates in Tier 2, merit will be decided by applying the following criteria, one after another in the order, till the tie is resolved:

  • Marks scored in Paper-II & Paper-III of Tier-II Examination for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer, respectively, if applicable.
  • Marks scored in Section-I of Paper-I of Tier-II Examination.
  • Date of birth, with the older candidates, placed higher.
  • Alphabetical order in which the names of the candidates appear

The DEST is merged with the Tier 2 exam and the descriptive Tier 3 is not there in the exam process. It is not clear whether this is a temporary or permanent change in the SSC CGL exam pattern.

The candidates are required to download and check their SSC CGL results online only. The Commission releases the SSC CGL Tier 1 result within a month from the completion of the exam.

OTR is independant to the exam, and the candidates can apply for any number of SSC exams with one OTR only.

No, the SSC CGL application fee, once paid is non-refundable. The fee once paid cannot be refunded at any point in time. The Commission mentioned that the application fee will not be refunded even when the candidates withdraw their applications. The Commission does not refund the application fee under any condition. There is no provision provided for the refund of application fee. Such facility was provided by UPSC earlier under the application withdrawal scheme.
