SSC CGL Notification 2026 OUT: Vacancies, Eligibility, Syllabus, Exam Pattern, Important Dates

The Staff Selection Commission released all the information related to the SSC CGL 2026 exam in its notification. The candidates are suggested to read and understand the SSC CGL notification to understand the selection process.

The official notification mentions the SSC CGL eligibility. The candidates must refer to the official notification to know all the components of eligibility, such as the following:

• Nationality.
• SSC CGL Age Limit.

SSC CGL Educational Requirement

A candidate should complete a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institute. The candidates can read and understand the SSC CGL eligibility conditions here.

The SSC CGL 2026 application link was activated with the release of official notification. The candidates were required to fill out the SSC CGL application form through the One-Time Registration number and credentials. The candidate requires the SSC registration number for login purposes. 

How to Apply for the SSC CGL Exam 2026?

Candidates can check below the methods to apply for the SSC CGL exam.

• Visit at ssc.gov.in
• Click on the 'New User? Register Now 'link. 
• Fill the SSC CGL registration form.
• Log in to the registered account using the registration number (generated at the time of registration) and password (set at the time of registration).
• Fill in all details asked in the SSC CGL application form.
• Upload scanned images of photos and signatures and other important documents, if applicable. 
• Review the SSC online form carefully and click on the Final Submit button.
• Pay the application fee of INR 100 in online or offline mode.

The Staff Selection Commission released the number of vacancies in the official notification. The details of the SSC CGL Vacancies 2026 were released separately. The Commission releases the tentative vacancies only and it can revise the number of vacancies anytime before the declaration of final result.

A total of 12, 256 SSC CGL vacancies were released and mentioned in the official notification. The Commission releases the post-wise and category-wise vacancies separately. 

The Central Government has emphasised recruitment in the Central departments and ministries. The candidates can expect a higher number of vacancies in the official notification. The number of vacancies is the most important component of any notification. It officially announced the number of vacancies in the recruitment notification. It serves as the motivation factor for various candidates. SSC release the vacancies with the notification and sometimes separately after the release of the notification. SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2026

The Commission did not change the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam pattern. Most of the candidates are filtered out at this stage only because of the level of competition involved in the exam. The candidates can see here the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam pattern.

The major changes were done in the SSC CGL Tier 2 phase. The candidates can see details about SSC CGL exam pattern. 

The candidates are advised to read and understand SSC CGL exam pattern as given in the notification. The Combined Graduate Level exam is conducted nation-wide and the competition is really tough in the exam. The candidates should note that even a difference of 1 mark can change the result. SSC CGL Tier 1 Syllabus 2026

SSC CGL Tier-I exam has the the highest number of candidates appearing for the exam. It is conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). It works as the filter exam and weeds out most of the candidates. The marks secured in the Tier-I exam is considered for the final merit list.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Syllabus 2026

SSC CGL Tier-II exam is also conducted as CBT online. The marks secured in the Tier-II exam plays a crucial role in the final selection. The SSC CGL 2026 Syllabus was revised and modified to include General Awareness and Computer Awareness in the Tier 2 exam. Now onwards, there will be three papers in the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam. SSC CGL exam will be a two-stages only. The candidates should have the SSC CGL syllabus 2026 at their preparation desk so that they can have all the topics in one snapshot.
