SSC CGL Exam Centre 2026: The Staff Selection Commission will allot SSC CGL exam centres based on the choice of centre in the application form. The candidates are required to provide three choices of exam centres and the Commission tries to allot the exam centre given as first choice in the SSC CGL form. The Commission release the City intimation slip to inform the candidates about their city of examination and date of exam.

The Commission inform about the exam centre in SSC CGL admit card. The Commission also release the percentage of the candidates who got the exam centre of their choice. In addition to that, the Commission also provide the slot selection facility to the candidates where the candidates can select their preference for the exam slot. The Commission will conduct SSC CGL 2026 exam in May-June. The candidates will be required to carry one photo identity card with the admit card to secure entry to the examination centre.

SSC CGL Exam Centres 2026

The Combined Graduate Level is conducted across the nation simultaneously for more than a week. The Commission requires such exam centres where the internet connectivity and electricity is available. The Commission releases the exam centres list in the official notification. The candidates will be required to check their admit card to know their exam centre. The region-wise exam centres are given below:

This region covers the densely populated area of Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. The candidates can see below the list

The Eastern region covers the states of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Jharkhand, Odisha, Sikkim and West Bengal. The Andaman and Nicobar Island is the exception which is included here.

The SSC CGL Exam Centres are allotted on a first apply first allot basis. The candidates are required to choose three exam centre cities from a region and the Commission tries to allot the exam centre in those three.

The Commission also release the data about the candidates who got the exam centre of their choice.

Q:   Which region has the highest number of SSC CGL exam centres?
A: 

The candidates should note that the Southern Region has the highest number of exam centres across the nation. The Staff Selection Commission has assigned over 20 exam centres to the Southern region. The Commission assess the exam centres allotted to each region after the examination and the Commission can change the number of exam centre allotted to a specific region.

The number of candidates who appeared in the exam is the key criterion for assigning a state to the SSC CGL exam centre.

Q:   Can the Commission increase the number of SSC CGL exam centre in a State?
A: 

Yes, the Commission can increase the number of SSC CGL exam centers in a state. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has the authority to change the number of exam centers assigned to any region, including increasing the number of SSC CGL exam centers in a state.

Q:   When will SSC CGL exam dates (of the candidate) be released?

The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL 2025 exam dates (Revised) of the candidates through its application status/city slip. The Commission released the SSC CGL 2025 application status on its official website - ssc.gov.in under the candidate's login. The candidates were required to check their exam dates by logging with their SSC OTR. The candidates should note that the SSC CGL admit card 2025 was released four days before the exam date of the candidate.

The SSC CGL 2025 exam was conducted in September.

Based on the past trends, generally SSC CGL Tier 1 good score is considered as 150+ and the target should be around 165 to 170+ for General category. For OBC or EWS 140 to 150 and target can range up to 160 to 165+.
