How is the JEE Advanced 2026 Result Prepared
JEE Advanced 2026 result is prepared based on the raw marks secured by the candidates in the exam. The marks are calculated based on the JEE Advanced marking scheme. The questions in exam follow different marking scheme for various type of questions. Some question also has partial marking (If some part of question is answered).
Marks calculation subject-wise: The marks obtained by a candidate in Physics in JEE Advanced 2026 will be the sum of marks in Physics part of Paper 1 and Paper 2. The marks for Maths and Chemistry will be also calculated the same way.
Total marks calculation: The total marks obtained by a candidate in JEE Advanced 2026 will be the sum of candiates marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in both paper 1 and paper 2. The total marks of paper 1 and paper 2 will be added together to get the marks of the candidates out of 360.

How is JEE Advanced Rank List Prepared
The All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Advanced 2026 was calculated based on the aggregate marks in JEE Advanced 2026 exam. The JEE Advanced 2026 AIR is prepared under All -India and category-wise. Category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of candidates are made available through the JEE Advanced 2026 online portal after the results are declared. Text messages will also be sent to the candidates at their registered mobile numbers.
JEE Advanced 2026 Tie-Breaking Policy:
If the aggregate marks scored by two or more candidates are the same, then the following tie-break policy will be used for awarding ranks:
- Candidates having higher positive marks will be awarded a higher rank.
- If a tie exists, then a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in the subject of Mathematics.
- If this does not break the tie, a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained more marks in the subject of Physics.
- If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank.

What After JEE Advanced Result - JoSAA Counselling
Candidates who qualify JEE Advanced 2026 will be eligible to participate in the counselling for admission to IITs. The JEE Advanced 2026 counselling will be organised by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2026 in five/ six rounds. JoSAA organises counselling for 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 33 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs).
To participate in the counselling, candidates will have to register online at JoSAA portal, and fill choices of colleges & courses. Seats will be allotted basis the candidates All India Rank in the exam.

JEE Advanced 2026 AAT - Architecture Admissions
The Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) will be organised on June 4, 2026 for admission to BArch prohrams at IITs. Only those candidates who qualify JEE Advaced can appear in AAT. Candidates have to register online at the website jeeadv.ac.in from June 1 to 2, 2026 to appear in AAT and the results will be announced on June 7, 2026.
The BArch program is available at IIT (BHU) Varanasi, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee only. Candidates desirous of joining the BArch (Architecture) program will have to pass the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT). The results of the AAT will be declared on the JEE Advanced 2026 online portal. Admission to BArch courses is also done via JoSAA counselling.
