CTET February 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will publish the CTET 2026 Notification for the December session on the official website at ctet.nic.in. It will be released in the form of PDF and consists of all the information related to the exam. Along with the notification, the CTET application form will also be released. Candidates will get a deadline to fill out the CTET application form. It is expected that the December session Notification will be announced in September 2026.
The CTET Result for the February session was declared on March 30. 597061 candidates qualified in both the papers and the pass percentage was 25.68. In 2026 in CTET exam, 2649129 candidates registered and 2324625 appeared. The CTET exam was held on February 7 and 8 and March 1 (re-exam).
The CTET Exam 2026 will be held offlne as a Computer-Based Exam (CBE). The CTET notification was released on November 27. The application dates were November 27 to December 18. The CBSE CTET exam is of national-level importance. It is conducted twice every year. It is a mandatory eligibility criterion for aspirants who want to apply for teacher recruitment in central government schools, such as KVS and NVS, for Classes 1 to 8.

What is CTET?
CTET is an eligibility exam conducted at the national level. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is the conducting body of the CTET exam. The CTET exam is conducted every year to determine the eligibility of students who want to become teachers in Central Government Schools, such as KVS and NVS, among others. There are two papers in the CTET- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 is for students who want to teach Classes 1-5 (Primary Teachers), and Paper 2 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 6-8 (Elementary Teachers). Candidates who wish to teach Classes 1-8 need to take both papers. The CBSE has so far conducted 20 editions of the CTET exam. The CBSE CTET exam is conducted offline in pen-and-paper mode.

CTET Form Correction 2026
The CBSE will open the CTET 2026 application correction window for the December session. This facility will allow candidates to rectify any errors in the online submitted form. This facility will be provided by the CBSE for a specified time period. After that, no requests will be considered to modify the application and incorrect or incomplete applications will be rejected by the authority. CTET Eligibility Criteria 2026
It is very important for a candidate to go through once the CTET eligibility criteria before applying for the CTET exam. Also, candidates can apply for either CTET Paper 1, Paper 2 or both Papers. Paper 1 is for teaching classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 for classes 6 to 8. Therefore, depending on it, candidates can apply and must fulfil the required eligibility in terms of age limit, qualifications, etc.

Candidates must be citizens of India to appear for the exam.
CTET Paper 1 Eligibility
Class 12 with a minimum of 50/ 45 per cent marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ Education or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education OR
Bachelor’s degree with a BEd degree.
Paper 2 Eligibility for 6 to 8 Class Teachers
Graduation with 50 or 40 per cent marks with Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years) OR BEd OR Bachelor of Elementary Education OR
Senior Secondary with 50 per cent marks, and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed.

CTET Admit Card 2026
The admit card will be issued a few days before the exam date by the CBSE on the official portal at ctet.nic.in. The hall ticket is important for a candidate to carry at the examination centre otherwise he or she will not be allowed to sit in the exam. Candidate should check it properly before downloading it. CTET Exam 2026 FAQs
There are no fixed the highest marks in the CTET exam. The exam is of total 150 marks. Those who obtain over 120 marks are good scorers.
The CTET exam is valid for life time. Earlier, the CTET eligibility Certificate was valid for a period of seven years starting from the date of declaration of result. However, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and CBSE officially extended the CTET passing Certificate validity to lifetime. Candidates need to fulfil the age limit criteria fixed by the respective teacher recruiting body such as NVS, KVS or others. Therefore, candidates can apply for the teaching jobs after qualifying the Central Teacher Eligibility Test CTET however, they must fall within the age limit defined by the respective agency.

Yes, the CTET exam has been resceduled. Due to high number of applications, the Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the exam on February 7 and 8 instead of only 8 February.
Candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks are considered CTET pass. Those who get over and above the set marks are considered good scorers. Hence, scoring 120 marks in the CTET exam is good.
Candidates need to carry these documents to the CTET exam centre-
- CTET admit card.
- Original photo ID proof such as PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, or Aadhaar Card.
- Passport size photograph.
- Ball-point pen of blue or black ink.
- Transparent water bottle.
The CTET admit card is important to appear for the exam as well as to check the results. Candidates need to carry their admit cards to the exam centre. Candidates without the hall ticket are not allowed to take the exam. The admission card contains roll number, which is needed to check result.
