The Staff Selection Commission conducted the Combined Graduate Level Examination, CGL Tier-II Examination 2023 between October 26 and October 27. According to the official notification, candidates can fill and submit the SSC CGL 2023 Service Option Preference Form between November 18 and November 21.

SSC CGL Post Preference 2023: The Staff Selection Commission has released a notification related to option-cum-preference for SSC CGL 2023. Candidates who appeared in the CGL Tier-II examination are required to submit their preference for post(s)/ department (s) for CGLE-2922 through the official website at ssc.nic.in. The SSC CGL Post Preference 2023 submission window opens tomorrow, i.e. November 18.  The Staff Selection Commission conducted the Combined Graduate Level Examination, CGL Tier-II Examination 2023 between October 26 and October 27. According to the official notification, candidates can fill and submit the SSC CGL 2023 Service Option Preference Form between November 18 and November 21. Earlier, the Commission mentioned the last date to such form as November 26 which was a typographical error. The Commission released a corrigendum for the same.

“Before the declaration of final result, Option-cum-Preference(s) for post(s)/ department(s) are required to be submitted by those candidates who have appeared in the Tier-II examination. Accordingly, all candidates, who have appeared in Tier-II, are advised to submit their Option-cum-Preference for post(s)/ department(s) for CGLE-2023 through their respective ‘CANDIDATE LOGIN’ on the website of SSC (Headquarters) i.e., https://ssc.nic.in , wherein a tab for submission of Option-cum-Preference(s) for post(s)/ department(s) will be activated on 18.11.2023 which will remain active during the period from 18.11.2023 to 21.11.2023  for the candidates who have appeared in Tier-II examination,” the notice reads.

How to submit post preference for CGL 2023?

Step 1. Visit the official website at ssc.nic.in

Step 2. On login using your registered username and password

Step 3. Now, select your preferred posts or departments and submit the option-cum-preference form.

Step 4. Download and save the confirmation page for future reference

The notice further added, “Candidates may please note that the Option-cum-Preference(s) can be revised only during the aforesaid period and Option-cum-Preference(s) last submitted by the candidate will be treated as final. Candidates who fail to exercise their Option-cum-Preference(s) during the aforesaid period, shall not be given any further opportunity for submission of their Option-cum-Preference(s) and such candidates will not be considered for inclusion in the final merit list/final selection. Therefore, the candidates who have appeared in Tier-II are required to mandatorily exercise their Option-cum-Preference(s) for consideration of their candidature in the final merit list/final selection in CGLE-2023.”

SSC CGL Post Preference for PwBD candidates

“PwBD candidates must ensure that they give preference for only those posts which are identified as suitable for their disabilities. Allocation of posts will be made as per the provisions of the Notice of Examination on the basis of 'merit-cum-preference of posts'. The candidature of a PwBD candidate will get cancelled by the User Department concerned if he/ she gets selected for a post that is not identified as suitable for his/ her disabilities,” the Commission said.

Candidates will not be considered if fail to submit post-preference

Candidates, who do not submit their post preference(s) on the website of the Commission within the stipulated time, will not be considered for any post in the Final Result. Such candidates shall not be provided with another opportunity to exercise preference for posts and will be solely responsible for the same. Any grievance received in this regard in any form like Post, Fax, Email, by hand, etc. shall not be entertained by the Commission and will be summarily rejected.
