JoSAA 2024 chemical engineering cutoff for NITs
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts a common counselling process for admission to IITs. NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. The JoSAA 2024 counselling process has commenced on 19 July 2024. JoSAA conducts six rounds of counselling including five regular rounds and one special round of counselling for all institutes except IITs. Factors affecting JoSAA 2024 Chemical Engineering cut-offs for NITs:
There are several factors that affect the cut-off rank/marks. JoSAA considers several points while deciding the cut-off for any branch:
GATE Round 6 has been released for admission to the M.Tech courses. As per NIT Trichy cutoff 2023, the GATE Round 6 closing rank was 637 for General category candidates in All India quota for Computer Science & Engineering. Further, from comparing with the last two years' closing ranks, the competition has gradually increased for the current year. In the year 2021 & 2022, the last closing rank for M.Tech CSE were 753 & 653, respectively.
NIT Trichy admissions 2024 are based on GATE 2024 ranks followed by CCMT Counselling process. Candidates seeking admission to the M.Tech must appear for GATE in order to be eligible for further admission process.
The technology institute offers a three-year full-time MCA course. The three-year duration of the course is divided into six semesters of six months each. Admission to the PG course is entrance-based.
Number of candidates
The number of candidates applying for the Chemical Engineering branch in the NITs has a huge impact on cut-off. Generally, Chemical Engineering is one of the most desired branches, A lot of candidates seek admission to Chemical Engineering courses. So, The more candidates apply for Chemical Engineering the higher the cutoff will be. Some NITs have more demand amongst the students which leads to a higher cut-off.

The number of seats available for Chemical Engineering in NITs affects the cut-off. E.g., NIT Allahabad has just 30 Chemical Engineering seats available for all India quota, if 5000 students apply for 30 seats cut-off will shoot up.
Category of Candidate
Candidates must know that NIT 2024 opening and closing rank for the Chemical Engineering branch varies for different categories. As per the previous trends open category has the highest cut-off and SC/ ST/ PwD has the lowest cut-off. Candidates must keep in mind the impact of category in the NITs cut-off 2024 rank.
Difficulty Level of Exam
The difficulty level of JEE Mains exam also affects the cut-off. If JEE Exam is difficult, JEE Mains cut-off will be lower since every student gets lower marks & Vice-versa for the easy JEE Mains Exam.

All NITs combined offer 1436 seats for a four-year B.Tech. degree course in chemical engineering.
