The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 session 1 exam between January 21 and 29. In this duration, the authority will conduct the paper 1 exam for B.E/B.Tech in two shifts daily on January 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28. The paper 2 exam for B.Arch and B.Planning is scheduled for January 29.
JEE Main 2026 Hall Ticket Update for Jan 28 & 29
The agency has already released the JEE Main admit card 2026 for the exams on January 21 to 24. The JEE Main 2026 admit card download link for January 28 and 29 is expected on January 24, 2026. The hall ticket is a mandatory document while appearing for the exam. Candidates must download and take coloured printouts of their admit cards, self-declaration form and photographs along with a valid ID proof while appearing for the test. Students who received the NTA email regarding a photo verification certificate should also carry this document along with the above list.

With JEE Main 2026 exam approaching fast, candidates should now focus on revision and quizzing themselves before the exam. Important JEE Main 2026 Exam Day Guidelines
- Visit your JEE Main exam centre a day before the exam to familiarise yourself with the location and assess factors like time and distance.
- Ensure you reach the test centre at least an hour before the reporting time mentioned in your JEE Main 2026 admit card. Candidates reporting after the gate closes will not be allowed to enter the test venue. Candidates will be undergoing various mandatory processes, thus reaching on time is important.
- Candidates must write their name and roll number at the top of the rough sheets and must return them along with the admit card to the Invigilator before leaving the exam hall.
- Enter your required details in the attendance sheet in legible handwriting, put your signature, left-hand thumb impression and paste the photograph at the appropriate place.
- JEE Main aspirants will be required to enter the required details in an attendance sheet provided by the invigilator. Candidates are also required to paste their coloured passport-sized photograph, which should be the same as that in the application form.

JEE Main 2026 Exam LIVE Updates: How to Use Rough Sheets in JEE Mains?
All calculations/writing work is to be done only in the rough sheet provided at the test centre in the examination room/hall and on completion of the test, candidates must hand over the rough sheets to the invigilator on duty in the room/hall. Candidates must write their names and application number at the top of each rough sheet provided to him/her during the examination. In case candidates are found swapping the rough sheets, they will be considered as UFM and appropriate action will be taken as per relevant clauses of UFM. The rough sheets provided to the candidate will be collected by the invigilator and destroyed by shredding after the conduct of examination.

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card Download Problems: NTA Provides Solution
In case a candidate is unable to download his/ her Admit Card from the website, he/ she should approach the NTA Help Line Number: 011-40759000 between 10 AM & 5 PM. In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signature shown in the e-Admit Card and Confirmation Page, the candidate may immediately approach the NTA Help Line from 10 AM to 5 PM. In such a case, the candidate should appear in the examination with the already downloaded admit card. However, NTA will take necessary action to make corrections in the record later.

Don'ts for JEE Main Exam 2026
Only a limited number of items are allowed inside the exam hall. Carrying restricted items can lead to disqualification or cancellation of candidature. Students can check the list of items not be carried inside the exam hall below.
- Electronic Devices - Mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, earphones, or any electronic gadgets.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Updates: Things to Carry on JEE Main Exam Day
Before leaving for the exam, candidates must ensure that they carry all mandatory items as prescribed by NTA. Failing to carry the mandatory documents may lead to denial of entry. The list of documents is provided below.
- JEE Main 2026 Admit Card - Carry a clear printout of the admit card. Students must ensure that all the details are visible. The admit card also mentions important instructions that must be followed strictly.
- Valid Photo Identity Proof - A government-approved photo ID, such as Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, PAN Card or Driving Licence, has to be carried for verification.
- Passport-size Photograph - Students must carry at least two passport-size photographs, preferably the ones uploaded in the application form.
