Day 2 of the JEE Main 2025 January session exam was held today. Many topics that carried high weightage in the exam today will be also important for the upcoming JEE Advanced 2025 exam for IIT aspirants. Check below the analysis of important chapters common for both JEE Mains and JEE Advanced exams.

JEE Main 2025 High Weightage Topics Important for JEE Advanced

JEE Main 2025 Day 2 Exam Ends; Check High Weightage Topics Also Important for JEE Advanced

The JEE Main January session 2025 exam for day 2 took place on January 23, conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format across multiple testing centres. The examination was divided into two shifts; the first shift occurred from 9 AM to 12 PM, while the second shift ran from 3 PM to 6 PM. Candidates rated the overall difficulty of both shifts as moderate.

Notably, Mathematics was characterised as lengthy and more challenging, whereas Physics maintained a moderate difficulty level, and Chemistry was considered easier in both shifts. Significant emphasis was placed on specific topics within each subject that carry substantial weightage in the exam. These key topics not only hold importance for securing a strong performance in JEE Main but are also important or JEE Advanced, making them vital for aspirants aiming for IIT admissions.

Soe topics that were asked in the JEE Main 2025 exam held on January 23 and 22 also hold importance for the JEE Advanced exam to be held on May 18. In Mathematics, a significant number of questions were drawn from core topics such as integration, calculus (including differentiation), relations and functions, circles, conic sections (particularly the parabola), vectors and 3D geometry, and permutations and combinations. Similarly, Physics witnessed a strong emphasis on modern physics, electrostatics, gravitation, semiconductors, ray optics (including refractive index and lenses), and current electricity. For Chemistry, p-block elements, aromaticity, solutions, coordination compounds, freezing point, biomolecules, aldehydes and ketones, thermodynamics, named reactions, and chemical bonding (including the octet rule) emerged as prominent themes. While these observations offer valuable guidance, it's crucial to remember that the actual weightage of individual topics may vary from year to year. A comprehensive and balanced approach to preparation across all subjects remains essential for success in the highly competitive JEE Advanced.
