Eligible candidates can complete their application process by visiting the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in. JEE Main serves as a gateway for aspiring engineers to access education and promising career opportunities, facilitating admission to top institutions, including 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 3 Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), 37 Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), and IIEST Shibpur.

Motivating the aspirants, Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao, Chairperson, CSAB 2025, said, "I strongly encourage talented students from the country to register for the JEE Main 2025 Examination. Cracking this prestigious exam can be a life-changing achievement, empowering their future in science and technology.”

JEE Main Counselling: JoSAA and CSAB 2025

JoSAA 2025 is jointly organised by IIT Kanpur and NIT Rourkela, while CSAB 2025 is led by NIT Rourkela. Through JEE Main and the subsequent counselling rounds, students can secure admission to prestigious institutes that foster their potential and equip them with the skills needed for global success.

Annually, nearly 24,000 seats are available across NITs in India. In 2025, around 2,000 seats are expected to be reserved under the State Quota for NITs in the Northeastern states, along with 740 seats under the NEUT category. The JoSAA/CSAB counselling process provides numerous advantages for students:

  • Exclusive Seat Reservations: Dedicated quotas for Northeastern students ensure access to top institutions.
  • Multiple Admission Opportunities: The two CSAB Special Rounds offer additional chances for students to secure seats if they miss out in the main rounds.
  • Seamless and Transparent Process: The fully online system simplifies registration, document verification, and seat allotment, enabling students to complete formalities from home. Multilingual support ensures smooth navigation for both students and parents.
  • Wide Range of Course Options: Students can explore diverse programs, from core fields like Civil and Mechanical Engineering to emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Data Science.
  • Strong Career Prospects: Graduates from IITs, NITs, and other premier institutes secure prestigious roles in leading industries, government agencies, and startups, opening doors to innovation and impactful contributions in their fields.

Challenge Faced by Northeast Students

CSAB 2025 is working to boost JEE Main participation from the Northeast region. As part of this awareness drive, the CSAB 2025 team conducted press conferences in Kohima, Nagaland, on February 11, 2025, and in Aizawl, Mizoram, on February 14, 2025, to encourage student registrations. The initiative focused on raising awareness about JEE Main, educating students about reservation policies, and highlighting the benefits of the home state quota.

Recognizing the unique challenges faced by students from the Northeast, CSAB provides specialised counselling opportunities tailored to their needs:

  • CSAB-NEUT Round: Offers seat allocation in AICTE-approved institutes across India for students from Northeastern states and Union Territories with limited access to technical education.
  • CSAB Special Round: Provides an additional opportunity for candidates who were unable to secure a seat through JoSAA/CSAB counselling, ensuring another chance for admission to NIT+ institutions.
