JEE Main Result 2025 OUT Live: What is NTA JEE Main Percentile Score?
The NTA JEE Main Percentile Score is a normalized score comparing a candidate’s performance to others in the same session. Since JEE Main is conducted in multiple shifts with varying difficulty levels, percentile scores ensure fairness. It is not the raw score but a value calculated using the formula:
Percentile = (Number of candidates with a score ≤ yours / Total candidates in the session) × 100
The highest scorer gets 100 percentile, and scores are ranked accordingly. Final rankings (AIR) are based on the best percentile across sessions. This score determines eligibility for JEE Advanced and admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
