2 marks will be given for every correct answer. 0.5 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

What is HPCET 2026 exam pattern?

HPCET 2026 exam pattern is now available online. Candidates can check details regarding how entrance examination will be conducted through official HPCET exam pattern. Knowing exam pattern beforehand will help candidates understand how they should prepare to perform well in entrance examination. HPCET 2026 exam will be conducted as an offline test. During the exam, candidates will have to attempt 150 objective multiple choice questions. Total duration of exam is 3 hour 15 minutes. Candidates will be given one mark for every correct answer. For incorrect answers, there is no negative marking. In the question paper, there will be topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

HPCET marking scheme is released online. Candidates should check marking scheme carefully to understand how their responses will be marked. For every correct answer, authorities will award four marks to candidates. However, one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

Q:   What is the division of questions in the HPCET paper?
A: 

HPCET paper will consist of three subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. Each subject will have two sections i.e., Section A will have 20 questions while Section B will have 40 questions. In Section A, all 20 questions have to be compulsorily attempted, while 30 questions have to be attempted from Section B. A total of 150 objective multiple-choice questions have to be attempted within 3 hours 15 minutes. No extra time will allotted to the candidates to complete the entrance examination. All of the questions will be prepared as per the units and topics in the official HPCET syllabus.
