Marking Scheme

For Category I - 1 mark will be given for every correct answer. ¼ marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

For Category II - Marking all correct options will yield 2 marks. For any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect options, the said answer will be treated as incorrect, and it will yield zero. For partially correct answers, i.e., when all correct options are not marked and also no incorrect options are marked, then the marks awarded will be = 2 x (no of correct options marked/total number of actually correct options)

Q:   What is the WB JELET marking scheme?
A: 

WBJEE JELET marking scheme will be released online by the authorities. Candidates are advised to check the marking scheme carefully to know how their answers will be allotted marks. The category-wise marking scheme of WB JELET is given below.

  • Category 1 - 1 mark will be given for every correct answer. ¼ marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Category 2 - All correct options will be allotted 2 marks. For any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect options, the answer will be treated as incorrect, and it will yield zero. Q:   What is the exam mode of WBJEE JELET?
A: 

WBJEE JELET will be held offline i.e., as a pen-and-paper-based test. Candidates will be required to visit the allotted exam centres to attempt the entrance examination. Out of the provided options in the WBJEE JELET question paper, the candidates will have to select their correct answer. The candidates will have to mark the correct option on the OMR sheet and submit it as soon as the duration of the exam is over. The authorities will not conduct WBJEE JELET in any other mode.

Q:   What is the division of questions in WBJEE JELET exam pattern?
A: 

According to the WBJEE JELET exam pattern, the paper consists of two categories - Category I will have 1 mark questions and Category II will have 2 mark questions. Category I will consist of questions from Mathematics (30 Questions), Physics (25 Questions), Chemistry (15 Questions) and Fundamentals of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (10 Questions). Category II will consist of Mathematics (10 Questions), Physics (5 Questions) and Chemistry (5 Questions).

Important Points of JELET 2025 Exam Pattern

  • JELET 2025 will be conducted offline, i.e., as a pen-and-paper-based test.
  • Candidates will be required to choose the correct answer from the given options while answering the questions.
  • The authorities will conduct WBJEE JELET 2025 in English. 
  • Candidates will have to use a blue/black ballpoint pen to darken the appropriate circle completely on the answer sheet.

Q:   When will WBJEE JELET 2025 be held?
A: 

The official WBJEE JELET 2025 exam date has been announced at wbjeeb.nic.in. The authorities will conduct WBJEE JELET 2025 offline i.e., as a pen-and-paper-based test on October 18, 2025. All registered candidates will have to attempt the entrance examination and qualify to be eligible for the counselling and admission process. Candidates will have to be registered and meet the eligibility criteria to participate in the WBJEE JELET 2025 examination.

Q:   How can I mark the correct answer in the WBJEE JELET OMR sheet?
A: 

While attempting WBJEE JELET, the candidates will have to answer the question on the OMR sheet by darkening the appropriate bubble marked A, B, C or D. The candidates are advised to use only black/blue ball point pen to mark the answer by completely filling up the respective bubbles. While answering the WBJEE JELET question paper, the candidates should be careful since any stray marks or damange to the OMR sheet may lead it to become invalid. 

Q:   Which subjects are compulsory and common for all WBJEE JELET candidates?
A: 

As per the official WBJEE JELET exam pattern, all candidates will be required to attempt the Category I and II questions. However, in Category II, the candidates will not be required to answer questions from Fundamentals of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Category I and II will commonly consist of questions from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. For the questions in Category I, a correct answer will be allotted 1 mark and there will be a negative marking. Category II questions will carry 2 marks and there will be no negative marking.
