SRMJEEE Exam Pattern 2026: The exam body, Sri Ramaswamy Memorial (SRM) conducts the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) every year. The exam body prescribes the SRMJEEE exam pattern 2026. As per the exam pattern of SRMJEEE 2026, all the questions in the test are in multiple-choice nature. Since the SRMJEEE exam is held in online, remote proctored mode, candidates can take it from their homes and on their own laptops/computers.

Candidates will have to install the necessary SRMJEEE safe exam browser on their system before the exam starts. To know the exam pattern and understand the online, remote proctored exam nature, candidates must participate in the SRMJEEE mock tests conducted by SRMIST a few days before the actual exam day. Latest Changes in the SRMJEEE Exam Pattern

In recent years, there has been a change in the SRMJEEE exam pattern. As per the change, instead of answering 125 questions candidates will need to tackle 130 questions. Also the structure has changed slightly, according to which the SRMJEEE exam pattern earlier used to have five sections, but now it has four.

The English and Aptitude sections have been merged into one combined section, which will now include a total of 20 questions. Previously, there were 5 questions in English and 10 in Aptitude, and they were treated as two separate sections.

However, rest of the SRMJEEE 2026 exam pattern remains the same. The Math/Biology section will still have 40 questions, while the Physics and Chemistry sections will each contain 35 questions.

Scoring will be consistent with last year’s rules; each correct answer will earn candidates 3 marks, and there will be no penalties for wrong answers. In total, the exam is worth 130 marks, compared to 125 in the past, and the duration remains at 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Candidates should prepare their systems before taking the exam. System requirements for the SRMJEEE online proctored exam are as follows:

  • Laptop with a functional camera and microphone. 
  • Intel i3 (4TH Gen) equivalent CPU or above.
  • 4 GB RAM or above.
  • Internet Speed – Minimum 1 MBPS.
  • 2 GB free hard disk space.

The syllabus of SRMJEEE is mostly based on 10 and 10+2 level and the questions are based on Science subjects predominantly PCM or PCB. Here we have share shared the SRMJEEE B.Tech syllabus -

Part 4 - Biology (40 questions) - Diversity of living world, Structural organisation in animals and plants, cell structure and function, human physiology, plant physiology, sexual reproduction in flowering plants, human reproduction, genetics and evolution, reproduction, molecular basis of inheritance, ecology and environment organisms and populations, biology and human welfare, Biotechnology and its applications.

Part 5 - English and Aptitude (20 questions) - Numerical ability, Data interpretation, Comprehension, Vocabulary and analytical reasoning.

There are a total of 130 questions in the exam and the time duration will be 2.30 hours. There will be no negative marking in the exam.

SRMJEEE 2026 Exam Pattern: Sections

The SRMJEEE exam has 4 sections. Check the details below:

  1. Physics: The physics section will have 35 questions and will carry 35 marks. All questions in this section will be of MCQ type. The level of the questions asked in this section will be 10+2 level.
  2. Chemistry: This section will have 10+2 level questions asked in MCQ format. The total marks in this section will be 35. The total number of questions in this section will be 35.
  3. Maths or Biology: The candidates who aspire to join the Biotech, Biotech (Genetic/Regenerative) and Biomedical courses have to attempt the Biology section. However, candidates who attempt Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English & Aptitude in SRMJEEE(UG) are eligible for all the BTech Degree Programs. The total marks in this section is 40 and has 40 questions.
  4. Aptitude and English: This section will have 20 questions of 20 marks. This section is included in the exam to test the aptitude of the candidates based on some general topics of 10+2 level. To get a sense of the candidate's grasp of the English language, this section has been included in the test.
