VITEEE Exam Pattern 2026 (Revised): Vellore Institute of Technology has released VITEEE 2026 exam pattern on its official website- viteee.vit.ac.in. As per the latest VITEEE exam pattern 2026 changes, negative marking has been introduced this year (2026-27). Now, candidates will have to be more cautious while attempting questions in VITEEE exam, as securing good marks in VITEEE 2026 will depend more on accuracy. 

According to the VIT VITEEE 2026 exam pattern, for each correct answer 4 marks will be awarded, and -1 will be deducted for incorrect answers. Candidates must check the pattern and VITEEE syllabus 2026 before attempting any questions. Overall, the VITEEE is a computer-based test conducted to offer BTech admission to any of the VIT campuses - Vellore/Chennai/AP/Bhopal.

Students will be given 2 hours and 30 minutes to attempt 125 questions from mathematics, physics, chemistry, aptitude, and English.

VITEEE will consist of 125 objective questions. In every question, student will be given four options, and correct one has to be selected.

VITEEE is an online test, conducted at various exam cities. Each question will have four options, out of which the student will have to choose the correct one. After selecting the correct option, it has to be submitted.

VITEEE 2026 Marking Scheme (Revised)

The Vellore Institute of Technology has revised VITEEE 2026 marking scheme along with VITEEE registration 2026-27 and brochure. According to new changes in VITEEE exam-

  • -1 mark will now be deducted for an incorrect response.
  • 4 marks will be given for each correct answer.
  • Each question in VITEEE will have four options, out of which one will be correct. 
  • Candidates will have to attempt questions within stipulated time (2 hours and 30 minutes).

NOTE: To understand marking scheme more closely, the institute will release VITEEE BTech mock test in March (expected), so that students will be familiar with the paper pattern and question type asked in exam.

According to previous year's analysis, VITEEE is moderate to difficult. Students should prepare all topics from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and English. In comparison to JEE Main, VITEEE is a considered a bit easier.

Q:   Are the wrong answers negatively marked in VITEEE?
A: 

Wrong answers are negatively marked in VITEEE. One mark will be deducted for incorrect answers in the entrance exam. As per the official pattern, four marks will be given for every correct answer in VITEEE.

Q:   Is VITEEE held as an annual exam?
A: 

Yes, the students will be able to attempt the VITEEE exam once in a year. If the students miss the exam, they will be able to give the VIT exam next year, since a second session will not be held.

The VIT BTech entrance exam is held online only. VITEEE 2026 question paper is divided into five sections: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude. Questions will be asked in English language with four options, out of which only one will be the correct answer.

VITEEE 2026 is divided into two types of exams - MPCEA and BPCEA. The candidates will have to attempt their preferred paper as per the subjects they have studied or the course they are applying for.

  • MPCEA - Candidates appearing in MPCEA (Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry/ English / Aptitude) in VITEEE are eligible for all the B.Tech. Degree programmes
  • BPCEA - Candidates appearing in BPCEA in VITEEE (Biology/Physics/Chemistry/ English/ Aptitude) are eligible only for B.Tech. Bio-stream Degree programmes

Q:   Are unattempted questions also negatively marked in VITEEE?
A: 

No, the unattempted questions in the VITEEE paper will not be marked negatively. These questions will not be considered when the papers are being scored. Students are encouraged to attempt all questions in the exam since wrong answers are not negatively marked.

Q:   What kind of questions will be present in the VITEEE question paper?
A: 

VITEEE exam pattern is released online. During exam, students will have to answer multiple choice questions. Out of four options for each question, student will have to select the correct one. More than one option cannot be selected. Question paper will be prepared from official syllabus.

Students appearing for VIT Engineering Entrance Exam must be aware of VITEEE syllabus 2026. The sylabus comprises topics and chapters that will be asked in exam. VITEEE Sample Paper & Mock Test

VIT Group of Institution will activate VITEEE 2026 mock/demo test link tentatively in March 2026. Candidates can check VITEEE most repeated questions in physics, chemistry, and mathematics to practice.

For VITEEE mock test, students do not need login details. They will have to go to mock test link at official website. Students will have to select their stream, MPCEA or BPCEA. After they click on sign in, they can practice mock test.

VITEEE 2026 mock test will be available tentatively from the first week of April 2026. Students can access the mock test online and no login credentials will be required. Through the mock test, the students can practice for the exam since the pattern and questions will be similar.

VITEEEE slot booking is expected to start in April (second week). Students who complete slot booking process will be able to download their admit crd and appear for the entrance exam.

As for now, there are no changes made in VITEEE exam dates. According to authorities, VITEEE will be tentatively conducted from April 28 to May 3. Official updates will be done on the official website.
