MHT CET Exam Pattern 2026: The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell will soon release the MHT CET 2026 exam pattern for both PCM and PCB groups. As per the last year MHT CET exam Pattern information available on the official website, the MHT CET PCM paper will have a total of 150 MCQ questions, 50 each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In the PCB group exam, there will be 100 MCQ questions from Biology and 50 each from Physics and Chemistry. The exam will be conducted online in Computer Based Test mode and the total duration of the paper will be 3 hours for both PCM and PCB group. There is no negative marking in MHT CET exam but the level of questions are similar to JEE MainThe MHT CET 2026 question paper will have 20% questions from the class 11, and 80% from the class 12 MHT CET syllabus.

Q:   What is the difficulty level of MHT CET exam?
A: 

Difficulty level of MHT CET is similar to JEE Main, as per the official information brochure. Students preparing for class 12 can crack MHT CET with a little extra effort. The syllabus of MHT CET is also similar to class 11 and 12 Maharashtra board which is an advantage for students planning to appear in MHT CET.

Q:   How many questions are asked in MHT CET exam?
A: 

There are 150 MCQ type questions in MHT CET exam from three subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Every section consists 50 MCQ-type questions and all must be answered in 3 hours.

Q:   Are calculators allowed in MHT CET exam?
A: 

Calculators are not allowed in MHT CET exam. However, you will get virtual calculator during the exam which can be used to solving lengthy calculations. Virtual calculator is available on computer screen during test and can be used by clicking on calculator link. Practice numerical questions to avoid virtual calculator as much as you can since these calculators can take much time.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in MHT CET?
A: 

There are 150 MCQs asked in MHT CET exam question paper with four options in each question and only one option is correct. Fifty questions are asked from each subject including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. This is an online computer-based test.

MHT CET 2026 Difficulty Level

The difficulty level of MHT CET is similar to JEE Main. As per previous year question paper, it has been observed that the MHT CET exam was quite the same as JEE Main. On the other hand, difficulty level of Biology was also at par with NEET UG exam. For candidates seeking admission to Engineering and Technology degree courses, it is mandatory to appear for Paper-1 and Paper-2. The questions in the MHT CET exam will be application-based. Candidates must check MHT CET chapterwise weightage in past years to analyze the difficulty level.

Q:   Do I need to attempt all the questions in MHT CET exam?
A: 

It is not compulsory to attempt all the question in MHT CET exam. Students are advised to attempt only those questions for which  they know the correct answer. Questions for which the answer is not sure should be left. However, as there is NO negative marking in MHT CET exam,  questions for which answer is doubtful can be attempted in last. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

Q:   Is there a negative marking in MHT CET?
A: 

MHT CET paper do not have negative marking for incorrect answer. In MHT CET exam, Physics and Chemistry question is of 1 marks. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions. For any question, if none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or dropped, then full marks will be awarded to all candidates irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

Q:   Will there be any break in MHT CET 2025 exam?
A: 

The time duration for MHT CET is 3 hours. There are no breaks in between this exam. You can leave once exam is completed. There will be 150 questions in total from 3 subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Answer a minimum of 75 questions. There is no separate time for any subject. Start with any subject based on your choice.

Q:   How is MHT CET conducted, online or offline?
A: 

Maharashtra CET Cell conducts MHT CET exam in online mode as a computer-based test. MHT CET exam is conducted for two different courses; BTech, and BPharma. The exam for both BTech and BPharma is completely online. The exam is held across various test cities in India.

Q:   In how many languages MHT CET exam is conducted?
A: 

Maharashtra CET Cell conducts MHT CET exam in three languages. These are Marathi, Urdu, and English. Students will select the language of their choice while filling out the application form. The language of MHT CET question paper during the exam will be available in a total of 3 languages, English, Urdu and Marathi. The language of paper can be switched among these 3 languages during the exam.

Q:   Can I change the language of the question paper during the MHT CET exam?
A: 

Question papers will be visible in English, Urdu and Marathi. Candidates can switch the language of the question paper between languages. They can select any language but cannot switch chosen language during exam.
