After that, they have to select the exam from the drop down menu and select the subject between Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Unlike the original exam, NTA provides NEET mock test in computer-based-mode. Moreover, the question paper is also not a combined set of all three subjects, but segregated subject-wise. Q:   Should I opt for sectional or full-length mock test for NEET?

During the preparation period of NEET both sectional as well as full length mock tests are useful. The sectional mock tests have to be taken after completing each subject. Once the entire NEET syllabus is completed, you should take full-length mock tests to assess the entire preparation. Generally students tend to take the NEET mock tests three to four months prior to the exam. Yes, the NEET examination pattern suggests that there will be negative marking. For every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted and 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer. However, negative marking will not be applicable for the unattempted questions. Since there is a negative marking scheme for wrong answers, candidates must answer questions carefully and select the questions carefully which they are sure about the accuracy.

NTA is the authority which creates the question paper of NEET. The questions are sent in by different professors, and NTA selects the questions for the examination. No single person is responsible for designing the question paper. Generally, the NEET question papers are set by an expert committee or panel of subject experts who later review the answer key challenges. Candidates may find questions from previous years' NEET question papers as well. This is why experts suggest solving previous years' question papers for NEET preparation.

  • Read multiple times [with learning assessment] Learning through writing.
  • Revise as many times as possible.
  • Test yourself in an exam stress environment.

  • Revise regularly and never wait for the last-minute revision of the syllabus you covered for the exam. Regularly revise what you have studied and check your preparation level by taking tests. If you keep revising the topics and concepts weekly or fortnightly, you can save a lot of time for the final revision.
Q:   What is the total number of questions in NEET?
A: 

The total number of questions in the NEET 2026 question paper will be 180, all of which are compulsory. Physics and Chemistry will have 45 questions each, Biology subject will have 90 questions, 45 each from Botany and Zoology. The total number of questions has been reduced from 200 to 180. The optional questions have been removed this year. Moreover, each subject will have single section, with 45 questions. Each question will have four marks and in case of wrong answer, there will be negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer.
