The NEET 2025 question papers were released officially on the NEET 2025 exam day, which was conducted on May 4, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM. As the exam was conducted in a paper-and-pencil-based test (PBT) or offline mode, candidates were handed over the hard copy of the NEET 2025 question paper, which they could take with them outside the NEET 2025 exam centres on the day of the exam. The NEET 2025 question paper codes were 45, 46, 47 and 48. Unlike previous years, the codes were not a mix of letters and numbers, but only numerical.

The NEET question paper 2025 carried 180 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, which had to be solved within 180 minutes or three hours.

The NEET 2025 final answer key and NEET 2025 result were released on June 14, 2025

Q:   Will there be negative marking in NEET?
A:

Yes, the NEET examination pattern suggests that there will be negative marking. For every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted and 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer. However, negative marking will not be applicable for the unattempted questions. Commonly asked questions
Q:   Is it useful to solve the previous years NEET question papers?
A:

Yes, in fact solving the question papers of previous years is an integral part of the preparation phase. They help the candidate familiarise themselves with the paper pattern and help them prepare an exam day strategy. Students must ensure that they solve the NEET question papers in a proctored manner, I. e. within the stipulated timing and duration and in one go, without any breaks. Students should ideally start solving the previous years' NEET question papers once they complete the syllabus. Another way to utilise previous years' NEET question papers is to solve the subject-wise questions separately, after completing the syllabus of each subject, students should solve the subject-wise questions from NEET question papers followed by the full-length question paper.

Q:   Where can I download the previous years NEET question papers?
A:

Aspirants can download the previous years' NEET question papers from Shiksha.com for free. They may also visit the official website of NTA and visit the Downloads section for previous years' NEET question papers. They have to select the year, exam and Sets to check and download the question papers for NEET and other entrance exams conducted by NTA. Moreover, top coaching institutes offering NEET coaching also provide previous years' NEET question papers for the students who enrol to their institute or opt for the mock tests. There are various other social media platforms which circulate NEET question papers of previous years for practice purpose. Students preparing for next year's NEET must ensure that they collect the previous years' question papers and solve those.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   How should I analyse my NEET mock tests?
A:

NEET mock tests must be analysed by the mentors of experts after the tests where they would point out the mistakes and suggest rectifications. They would also help in improving a faster and more effective way to solve a particular question. The analysis will help students identify their strong and weak areas and based on this, a better and improved preparation strategy would be suggested to them by the experts. Abiding the feedback based on the NEET mock test analysis will help improve their performance. At the last month before the test, there is not much scope left for the preparation. Hence, at the last few days before the exam, after the analysis of NEET mock test, aspirants should focus on finalising the test-taking strategy.

Q:   What is the ideal time and method to take NEET mock tests?
A:

Candidates must ensure that they take the NEET mock test in a proctored manner within a simulated environment. Hence, ideally students should take mock test in the exam timing, from 2 PM to 5 PM, without any break. This would help them get adjusted to the exam taking environment. Moreover, the test should be taken without any break. It must also be ensured that they take the test in a quite environment either alone or with a group of fellow NEET aspirants. Creating a simulated test-taking experience is important. While a number of students take the NEET mock tests at coaching institutes, some prefer to take it at their home. Irrespective of the location, the above factors must be followed to get the best out of the NEET mock test.

Q:   Does NTA release NEET answer keys and question papers together?
A:

No, the National Testing Agency (NTA) does not release NEET answer keys and question papers together. While releasing the NEET provisional result, NTA releases candidates' OMR sheets. The final NEET answer key is released in the form of a single PDF document, carrying the keys for all sets of the NEET question papers. The hardcopy of the NEET question papers are given by NTA on the day of the exam. Being a paper-pencil based test, candidates are allowed to carry the question papers outside the exam hall. In general, NTA releases the NEET question papers of previous years on its official website few months after the exam is conducted. NTA has released the NEET 2023 question papers of English and Hindi languages. However, the NEET 2022 question papers are not available on the official website yet. It is expected that the question papers of NEET 2022 will be released soon.

  • Count the total number of answers that are correct x 4
  • Count total numbers of answers that are incorrect x 1

Commonly asked questions
Q:   Should I opt for sectional or full-length mock test for NEET?
A:

During the preparation period of NEET both sectional as well as full length mock tests are useful. The sectional mock tests have to be taken after completing each subject. This would help you to gauge your preparation level and also help in understanding the areas of improvement. Once the entire NEET syllabus is completed, you should take full-length mock tests to assess the entire preparation. Generally students tend to take the NEET mock tests three to four months prior to the exam. Hence, when it comes to the final stage of preparation, ideally students should take full-length mock tests. However, if a student wants to revise a particular section or subject, then it is advisable that they take sectional mock tests or revision or practice purpose.

Q:   What should be revised in Last 2 days of NEET exam? Should the mock test be given or avoided in the last few days?
A:
I think you have to continue giving mock test upto the exam day. It will develop a habit. And at the time exam you will not be exhaust because of you have given so many mock test. On the exam day you will confirmed that I am giving the mock test only and not the anymore.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   I marked two answers for a question in NEET. One of the answers is correct. Will I get full marks for this question?
A:

According to the NEET exam pattern, a question for which more than one response is marked on the OMR sheet will be considered incorrect. For such questions, one mark would be deducted. Hence, candidates should be careful while answering on the OMR sheet. They should solve the questions separately on the space provided for rough work, and then shade the answer option on the OMR sheet to avoid such errors. Revision after completing the exam is also important to avoid unwarranted negative marking.

Q:   What should I do if I get a low score in NEET mock test or after solving previous years' NEET question papers?
A:

If students are unable to get a good score in NEET mock tests or question papers, the first step is to identify the problem areas and work on those to improve. After identifying the weak areas, they should take help of their teachers to know how to improve the weaknesses and methods of revision and practice. First, they should understand the reason for not scoring well in those areas. It could either be lack of conceptual understanding, or silly mistakes. In case of the former, they should go back to the basics and study each chapter and topics carefully. They must not leave any doubt or query unattended. In case, it is the latter, students should practice more with a better focus and concentration to avoid unnecessary errors. To improve the focus, it is important to have a calm mind, which can be attained through regular meditation. A healthy body and mind is a must for success.

Q:   I want to select English as the language of my NEET question paper. Which city should I choose?
A:

You can choose any exam centre of NEET if you have opted for English medium question paper. English is available at all centres across the country. English is a universal language and the NEET question paper medium. The exam city selection option becomes limited once candidates choose a regional language, except Hindi. Apart from the medium of the question factor, the other factor that plays a role in the NEET exam centre city selection is the permanent and present address selected by candidates during the application process.

Q:   When is the right time to start solving the NEET question papers for preparation?
A:

Aspirants should start solving the NEET question papers at least six months prior to the exam. Prior to solving the previous years NEET question papers, they should complete the NEET syllabus completely. Students may also solve sectional portions from the NEET question paper after completing the preparation for each subject. Ideally students should solve the NEET question paper in the exam timing, from 2 PM to 5 PM, without any break. This would help them get adjusted to the exam taking environment. Moreover, the test should be taken without any break. It must also be ensured that they take the test in a quite environment either alone or with a group of fellow NEET aspirants. Creating a simulated test-taking experience is important. The above factors must be followed to get the best out of the NEET question paper.

Q:   I want to choose Marathi as the medium for NEET Question Paper. Can I choose Delhi as my NEET exam centre?
A:

No, NTA has notified language-wise exam city demarcation. Regional languages are restricted by geographical boundaries. Hence, if you want to choose Marathi as the medium of examination, you will have to choose a NEET test centre in Maharashtra or other Marathi speaking states such as Goa or Gujarat. Another situation where you can select the NEET exam city in Delhi while opting for NEET Marathi question paper is to give a Delhi address as your permanent or present address. Candidates choosing Delhi as a NEET exam centre can choose English Hindi Punjabi and Urdu question paper mediums.

Q:   How many Sets are there in the NEET question paper?
A:

There are generally four Sets of NEET question papers, which are further segregated into six parts. However, in NEET 2025, there were four sets of the NEET question paper, which were named as 45, 46, 47, and 48, and these were not further divided into six subsets, which was followed till the previous year. The names of the NEET 2024 question paper Sets and codes are Q, R, S and T. For the NEET 2024 re-exam, the question paper sets were A, B, C and D. The multiple Sets and codes in the NEET question papers ensure that there is no malpractice in the conduct of the exam. The names of the Sets and codes of the regional NEET question papers are different from the English ones. While distributing the question papers of NEET invigilators had to ensure that they did not give the same set of question papers to two consecutive candidates. Once candidates are given the NEET question paper by invigilators, they need to check whether the question paper and test booklet, or answer sheet, is of the same code. In case of a mismatch, they need to bring the matter to the invigilator's notice. In case they submit the NEET test booklet with a different code from that of the NEET question paper, their exam will stand cancelled.

Q:   Do all the Sets of NEET question papers carry the same questions?
A:

Although the questions are the same in all Sets of the NEET question paper, the order of the sections and questions vary from set to set. The different order of the sections and questions ensure that there is no malpractice conducted during the exam. Even if some questions are absolutely different in separate Sets or languages, the topics and chapters covered and difficulty level remain similar to ensure normalisation. Hence, it can be said that NTA Sets a common question paper carrying 200 questions, after which the questions are distributed across four Sets and six subsets of the NEET question paper. The subjects, and the questions within the subjects are shuffled for each of the NEET question paper Sets. This allows a parity in terms of topics covered and difficulty level, as well as allows avoidance of malpractice.

Q:   What type of questions are there in the NEET question papers?
A:

The question types in the NEET question paper is objective and multiple-choice type. Each question carries four answer options. The difficulty level of the questions range from moderate to tough. The questions are asked from the prescribed NEET syllabus. Since NEET is a paper-pencil-based test (PBT), test-takers are given OMR sheet wherein they have to mark the correct answer option through blue or black ballpoint pen provided at the exam centre. While leaving the exam centre, candidates will have to submit the test booklet or the OMR sheet and rough sheet booklet to the invigilator. They will be allowed to carry the NEET question paper with them, outside the exam hall.

Q:   What are the languages in which NEET question papers are available?
A:

The NEET question papers are available in 13 languages, which are given below.

  1. English
  2. Hindi
  3. Bengali
  4. Urdu
  5. Assamese
  6. Gujarati
  7. Marathi
  8. Odia
  9. Kannada
  10. Tamil
  11. Malayalam
  12. Punjabi
  13. Telugu.

Candidates have to select the language while filling the NEET application form. There is no option to select multiple languages, and they have to select the language or medium in which they have studied till Class 12, and is most comfortable in. The selection of the NEET question paper language will also determine the exam city choices. For example, a candidate choosing Bengali language of question will get the option of selecting exam city in West Bengal.

Q:   Does NTA release all sets of NEET question papers online?
A:

NTA releases the NEET question papers online on the official website of NTA after the conclusion of the admission process of the academic year. However, NTA does not release the NEET question papers of all languages and sets. The exam authorities primarily release the English language question papers followed by Hindi. Till 2021, NTA had released NEET question papers in all languages. In 2022, only three sets of the NEET English question paper were released. In the years 2023 and 2024, NTA had released only English and Hindi question papers.

Q:   What if I am given a NEET question paper in a language I did not opt for?
A:

In case you are handed a NEET question paper in a language you have not opted for, you must report the matter immediately to the invigilator. You are advised to request the NEET exam centre invigilator to replace the NEET question paper with that of your preferred laguage immediately to avoid loss of time. In case of a query or confusion, crosscheck the NEET question paper language mentioned on your NEET admit card. You should not start attempting the questions until and unless you receive correct NEET question paper set or medium. It might also be a possiblity that you have entered a wrong exam hall or seat. Hence, you must ensure that you enter the correct exam hall or room number in the NEET exam centre and take the correct seat number.

Q:   What is the correct way of answering the NEET question paper?
A:
Candidates will be provided with OMR sheets. They will have to shade the correct answer option corresponding to each question uniformly with a ballpoint pen which would be provided to them inside the exam hall. They should fill only one answer option circle, otherwise, the response will be considered as wrong and would result in negative marking. They will have to do the rough work on the NEET question paper, in the space provided. While answering the NEET question paper on the OMR sheet, candidates must be careful that they select the correct question number and fill up the correct answer option. There are cases where candidates solve the question and deduce the correct option, but make a mistake while filling the OMR sheet by not checking the question number or the answer option carefully. Such mistakes can cause a negative marking of one mark.
Q:   What is the difficulty level of NEET UG?
A:

The difficulty level of NEET 2025 was very tough. As compared to last year, the difficulty level of the exam was much tougher. Physics was the toughest section. Chemistry was of moderate level of difficulty. The Biology section consisted of Botany and Zoology, was the easiest section. Botany questions were tougher than that of Zoology. The majority of the questions were NCERT-based, which were of easy difficulty level. There were some analytical questions, which were tough. Overall, the difficulty level of NEET 2025 subjects was moderate and the paper was manageable according to the candidates.

Q:   What if I find a question that is out of the syllabus or with wrong answer options in the NEET question paper?
A:
In such a scenario, test-takers should report the question or questions to the invigilator or exam authorities and not attempt the question. The exam authorities will review the questions and in case the doubt is confirmed, marks will be rewarded to all candidates. It is advised to candidates that in case candidates come across such a question, they should move ahead and attempt other questions in accordance with the number of questions to be attempted. Attempting extra questions will not fetch any extra marks. Hence, test-takers must select the questions carefully. In case after raising objections it is found out that the question or the answer option is wrong, then NTA will award marks to all candidates. NTA has identified and shared the marking scheme for such situations: a. If more than one option is found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options. B. If all options are found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question. C. If a question is found to be incorrect or the Question is dropped then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question. The reason could be due to human error or technical error.
