MHT CET Syllabus 2026: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell will soon release the MHT CET 2026 syllabus PDF. Candidates preparing for MHT CET 2026 can check here last year MHT CET Syllabus to know the topics which are covered in the exam. The syllabus of MHT CET for BTech (PCM Group) consists of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics topics of class 11 and 12 Maharashtra Board. Candidates appearing for BPharma (PCB Group) exam have to study Biology instead of Mathematics. As per the official website, 20 percent weightage is given to the Class 11 topics and 80 percent to the Class 12 topics of the Maharashtra board.

It is not compulsory to attempt all the question in MHT CET exam. Students are advised to attempt only those questions for which they know the correct answer. Questions for which the answer is not sure should be left. However, as there is NO negative marking in MHT CET exam, questions for which answer is doubtful can be attempted in last. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

MHT CET paper do not have negative marking for incorrect answer. In MHT CET exam, Physics and Chemistry question is of 1 marks. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions. For any question, if none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or dropped, then full marks will be awarded to all candidates irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.
Question papers during the exam will be visible in English, Urdu and Marathi. Candidates can switch the language of the question paper between the default languages which is English, Urdu and Marathi. In total, MHT CET is conducted in 3 languages and candidates have the option to select any language out of the available options. Candidates cannot switch the language of question paper between all 3 languages during the exam.
MHT CET Exam Pattern 2026
MHT CET 2026 exam pattern will be announced soon by the exam conducting authority. As per the last year exam pattern, the MHT CET paper for PCM will be divided into the following three sections:
- Section1: Mathematics
- Section 2: Physics and Chemistry
For PCB group, the section 1 will be Biology and Section 2 will be Physics and Chemistry.
Each of the three sections is of 90 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes). Although there is no negative marking in MHT CET, the difficulty level of the exam would be at par with JEE Main and NEET UG for PCM and PCB respectively. The questions will typically be application-based.

The MHT CET exam has a total of 150 questions from all three subjects. The exam has 50 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. All the 150 questions are multiple choice questions. In general, the MHT CET syllabus can be completed in 6 months. The time required will however vary for every student. If student start preparing for MHT CET in class 12, they can easily cover the entire syllabus for MHT CET along with the school home-work by giving special emphasis to topics that are part of MHT CET syllabus.
As per the official syllabus of MHT CET released by Maharashtra CET Cell, class 11 chapters have 20 percent weightage and class 12 chapters have 80 percent weightage.
