Check how the shift 2 of the JEE Main 2026 Jan 22 exam was below:

  • Maths was lengthy and tough. Questions in Maths came from topics like sequence, vector & 3D, integration, functions, sets, and probability

Maths Difficult - Maths will be the most challenging subject and the toughest. It is expected to have time consuming calculations and tricky questions.
Physics Moderate to Difficult - The numerical in physics can be on the tougher side. Candidates should have a crystal clear understanding of concepts in physics to ace this section. The overall subjects are expected to be balanced and moderate in difficulty.
Chemistry Easy to Moderate - Chemistry will be easy for candidates who complete NCERT books. This section is balanced, and questions carry equal weightage from inorganic, physical, and organic chemistry.

Toughest Shift of JEE Main 2026 January Session

As per the candidates and experts, the toughest shift of the JEE Main 2026 Jan session is the January 23 shift 2.

This shift was called the toughest because:

  • In this shift, maths was lengthy, and there were many multi-step problems.
  • Chemistry was also calculation-heavy. Many mixed concept questions were regarded as JEE Advanced level and were also tricky.
  • Physics has conceptual questions, and there were hardly any formula based questions.

Easiest Shift of JEE Main 2026 January Session

As per the candidates and experts, the easiest shift of the JEE Main 2026 Jan session is the January 28 shift 2.

  • The last shift of the JEE main 2026 jan exam was the easiest of all as per the students because they were able to attempt most number of questions in this paper.
  • Questions in chemistry were lengthy; however, physics was easy and took much less time to solve.
  • Maths was lengthy as well, but doable.
