
JEE Main Syllabus 2026: NTA has released the JEE Main 2026 Syllabus PDF for Paper 1 (BE/BTech), 2A (BArch) and 2B (BPlan). Candidates can check here the JEE exam syllabus for all three courses to prepare for the exam. NTA has not made any changes in JEE 2026 syllabus.
NTA JEE syllabus for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) consists of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry topics from the Class 11 and 12 NCERT. JEE Main exam syllabus of Paper 2A for Architecture (BArch) includes topics of Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Drawing, while Paper 2B (BPlan) syllabus includes Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Planning topics. Along with the syllabus, JEE Main exam pattern has been also released by the NTA. JEE Main 2026 exam dates have been announced for both January and April session and session 1 registration has started.

Is there any change in JEE Main Syllabus 2026?
The NTA has not made any changes for JEE Mains 2026 syllabus. A few changes were made in the syllabus in 2024, by removing several topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. All the removed topics are, however, part of the class 11 and 12 syllabus, but not included in the JEE Mains syllabus anymore. Candidates are advised not to study the deleted chapters for the JEE Mains exam 2026. The deleted topics from the JEE Mains syllabus are
- Mathematics: Mathematical Induction and Mathematical Reasoning units have been removed.
- Physics: In Physics, the Communication Device unit has been removed from the syllabus.
- Chemistry: Surface Chemistry, States of Matter, General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Metals, s-block elements, Hydrogen, Environmental Chemistry, Alcohol Phenol and Ether, and Polymers chapters have been removed.

JEE Main syllabus is based on class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Maths topics. National Testing Agency NTA has released the syllabus of JEE Main 2026 on the official website. Students can download the current JEE Main syllabus PDF from Shiksha page or from the JEE Main official page to start their preparation. It is advised that students prepare for the exam strictly as per the syllabus and do not leave any topic to prepare for the exam.
As per the current JEE Main pattern, the Paper 1 exam have a total of 75 questions, 25 each from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Out of 25 questions, 20 are multiple choice questions and 5 are questions with numerical value answers. Students need to answer all 5 numerical value type questions. Also, all 20 multiple-choice questions are compulsory and no choice is provided in them. Students need to complete all the 75 questions in 3 hours. The total marks of JEE Main exam is 300.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will declare the JEE Mains result 2026 in the form of percentile scores. Candidates can check here the previous year JEE Main marks vs percentile data to understand how much is 120 marks in JEE Main percentile.
As per the last year JEE Main marks vs percentile analysis, 120 marks would be around 95 to 97 percentile. However, the exact JEE Main 2025 percentile marks 120 would vary depending upon the highest number scored by the candidate in a particula shift and the total number candidates appeared in that particular shift.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2026
As per the JEE exam pattern, the Paper 1 (BE/BTech) will have a total of 75 questions of 4 marks each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer. In Paper 2A and 2B, there will be 77 and 100 questions, respectively. The marking scheme for Paper 2A and 2B is similar to Paper 1, except the drawing questions in Paper 2A.
